“It’s a Small World” Trivia
Disneyland opened its renovated and enhanced favorite ride “It’s a Small World.” It’s the song that once you hear you cannot forget for the rest of the day no matter how hard you try. It’s the ride that has captivated young and old for many years. So, with the new opening I thought it would be fun to share some trivia with you.
- The "It's a small world" made its debut as an exhibit at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair.
- It was part of the World’s Fair for 2 years and then was brought to Disneyland in May of 1966.
Mary Blair helped introduce modern art to Walt Disney and his Studio. It was her artistic style you see in It’s a Small World. All of the new characters and decorations added to this famous ride stayed true to Mary Blair’s original style. - Look for the new “Spirit of America” scene which has been added to the ride. I personally love to see changes in these familiar rides. Tell me how you like the new scene!
- Are you ready for some extra fun? Can you find the 29 Disney and Disney·Pixar characters now represented in the ride? Enjoy hunting!
I hope to see you on the ride someday. Maybe we’ll find the 29 characters together. Comment to this post as you find them!
